When you travel around Iceland, you can spot hundreds of horses everywhere. They add so much charm to the fairy-tale-like landscapes. For centuries Icelanders have had a great weakness for these animals, so they are bred on almost every Icelandic farm.

During our 6-month stay in South Iceland, we had the opportunity to live next to a farm, where lots of horses were living. The most wonderful experience for us was observing how the newly born foals make their first steps. They looked at the world with such an astonishment and curiosity. And they were so charming that it was impossible to take our eyes off them.

We didn’t know that horses grow so fast. After two weeks we barely recognized the little foal from this picture. He was almost twice that big.
